3. Purpose
This award recognizes educators who have made an outstanding contribution to promote teaching and learning Chinese language and culture in Canada.
4. Who is eligible?
The awards are open to teachers in Ontario’s public and private schools. They should be currently teaching Chinese to students at the elementary, secondary and college/university levels. These educators should have demonstrated some of the following qualities over time
enhance students?interest and enthusiasm in studying Chinese language and culture
create collaborative and innovative teaching environments
implement innovative teaching methods, creative programs and stimulating learning
recognize and demonstrate through actions the importance of professionalism
participate and promote continuous professional growth and development
support and promote excellence in teaching Chinese language and culture on a continuous
basis
5. Award categories
There are three award categories.
10-year Achievement Award
15-year Achievement Award
20-year Achievement Award
