中国驻多伦多总领馆从2013年起已连续多次成功举办 “中国熊猫杯”系列比赛,今年将以网络比赛的形式继续在安大略和曼尼托巴两省在校中小学生中开展“中国熊猫杯”学生创作演讲大赛。大赛由加拿大华文教育学会具体承办,加拿大FM105.9电台协办。

现就比赛有关事项通知如下:

一、比赛内容
2020年全球抗疫、中外互助、同舟共济、共渡难关,是特别的一年、难忘的一年。本次大赛拟请华裔青少年参赛者以“抗击疫情”主题,个人独立完成三到五分钟演讲,演讲内容必须为原创。 比赛设小学组(1~8年级),可创作”我在疫情中成长”的主题内容;中学组【9-12年级,分土生和新移民(在加拿大生活未达5年)两组】,演讲主题是“抗击疫情,青春担当”和“战胜疫情,让世界看到中国力量”。 二、比赛安排
(一)时间安排报名日期从即日起至11月10日晚12点结束。
参赛者通过所在中文学校报名,各中文学校组织预赛选出代表队参加决赛。未就读中文学校的同学可直接向加拿大华文教育学会报名,参加由学会组织的预赛(暂定11月15日为独立报名者预赛)。
11月22日举行决赛。

(二)比赛方式 以网络比赛Zoom 或Webex的形式进行。学会将适时向参赛者发送网络链接。
(三)奖项设置
小学组设立一等奖每组1人,奖金200元加币;二等奖3人,奖金150元加币;三等奖5人奖金100元加币。优秀奖10人,奖金50元加币。获奖者分别给予奖状鼓励。
中学组设一等奖每组1人(共2人),奖金300元加币;二等奖每组3人(共6人),奖金200元加币;三等奖每组5人(共10人)奖金150元加币;优秀奖每组10(共20人),奖金50元。获奖者分别给予奖状鼓励。
三、组织方式
安省和曼省各教育局各中文学校在预赛初选基础上,组队参加决赛,每队学生人数不超过3人。演讲优胜者视频和录音在FM105.9电台和魅力中国电视频道播出。演讲稿由学会结集出版。
四、评选办法
比赛由华文教育学会负责组织,邀请资深中文专家组成评委会对决赛进行评判,评出各奖项。

The year of 2020 is a special year, which will be unforgettable for everyone. In the global fight against the epidemic, China and the rest of the world have been assisting each other, and cooperating to overcome difficulties and promoting international solidarity.

The Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Toronto has been successfully hosting the “Chinese Panda Cup” Chinese Competition since 2013. This year, in the form of online contest, the Consulate General will continue to host the “Chinese Panda Cup Speech Competition” for elementary and secondary school students in Ontario, Manitoba and other provinces in Canada. Chinese Culture and Education Society of Canada and Canadian Chinese Radio FM105.9 are co-hosting this event.
I. Content of the Competition
All entries are original works. Entrants are required to complete three to five minutes of speech presentation independently.
The theme of the competition is “Fight the Epidemic”.The competition requires entrants to focus on the theme of “Fight the Epidemic”, and mainly concerned on these aspects: mutual assistance and cooperation between China and other countries in the fight against Covid-19, virus knows no borders, and the touching deeds of fighting the epidemic with one heart and one mind. It can also show victory over the epidemic and demonstrate the power of China in the face of such disasters.
II. Participants The entrants are mainly Chinese Canadian students in Ontario, Manitoba and other provinces in Canada.
The contest is divided into groups of elementary school students and secondary school students as follows:
1) Elementary school students (grade 1-grade 8); the topic of speech is “I Grew up in the Epidemic”.
2) Secondary school students (grade 9—grade 12) are divided in to two groups: students born in Canada and new immigrants (arrived in Canada within 5 years). The topic of speech is “Fighting the Epidemic, Youth Taking responsibility” and “Prevailing over the Epidemic, Showing the World the Power of China”.
3) Dress code is required for the speakers.
III. Competition Schedule
1) Registration is open now and ends on November 10, 2020, 11:59 pm. The contest is held on November 15 and November 22, 2020. The results of competition are published on November 22, 2020.
2) The competition is held online via Zoom or Webex.
3) Contestants will complete three to five minutes of presentation independently.
4) The judges are the professionals in Chinese studies or Chinese teaching field, who are organized by the Chinese Culture and Education Society of Canada.
IV. Prizes and Awarding Methods
1) Elementary school group: 1 first prizes of C$200 each; 3 second prizes of C$ 150 each; 5 third prizes of C$100 each.10 Excellence Award of C$ 50.
2) Secondary school groups (2 groups: new immigrants and Canadian-born): 1 first prizes of C$300 each (total 2); 3 second prizes of C$ 200 each (total 6); 5 third prizes of C$150 each (total 10). 10 Excellence Award of C$ 50 (total 20).
3) The awards are certain amount of money, and certificate. 4) The winners are broadcasted on the radio FM105.9 and played on Channel Charming China. The speeches are published by Chinese Culture & Education Society of Canada.
5) Prizes are mailed via UPS if entrants are out of town; local entrants can pick up prizes upon mutual agreed time.
V. Registration

Students will register through the school boards or Chinese schools. The maximum amount of members in each team is 3. Some exceptions might be considered.
We also accept individual participation. Individual registration, please refer to the website www.ccesc.ca .
Participants will receive a link and password from the Chinese Education Association before the competition
