中国驻多伦多总领馆从2013年起每年成功举办“中国熊猫杯”
系列比赛,今年以线上线下相结合的比赛形式继续在安大略和曼尼
托巴两省和会员单位在校中小学生中开展“中国熊猫杯”学生创作
演讲大赛。大赛由加拿大华文教育学会具体承办。
现就比赛有关事项通知如下:
一、比赛内容
1.中学组【9-12 年级,分土生和新移民(在加拿大生活未达 5
年)两组】,演讲主题为:庆祝中国驻多伦多总领馆建馆 40 周年:我眼中的中国总领馆

2.小学组(1-8 年级,分土生和新移民(在加拿大生活未达 5年)两组)可创作演讲内容:我的中国故事

本次大赛拟请华裔青少年参赛者个人独立完成三分钟演讲,
演讲内容必须为原创。

二、比赛安排
(一)时间与地址
各地学校预赛从 9 月至 10 月自行安排进行。
决赛报名日期从即日起至 11 月 15 日晚 12 点结束。

决赛时间:11 月 24 日 上午9点

地址:St. Theresa of Lisieux CHS, 230 Shaftsburry Ave, Richmond Hill, ON L4C 0E8

参赛者通过所在中文学校报名,各中文学校组织预赛选出代
表队参加决赛。未就读中文学校的同学可直接向加拿大华文教育学会报名(网址 www.ccesc.ca ),注明参加由学会组织的预赛(11月 17 日)。
(二)比赛方式
以线上线下相结合的方式举行。多伦多及附近地区,约克地区
采用线下参赛,其他地区可用线上的形式进行比赛。
(三)奖项设置
小学组设立一等奖每组 1 人(共 2 人),奖金 200 元加币;二
等奖每组 3 人(共 6 人),奖金 150 元加币;三等奖每组 5 人(共10 人),奖金 100 元加币。优秀奖每组 10 人(共 20 人),奖金 50元加币。获奖者分别给予奖状,奖杯鼓励。
中学组设一等奖每组 1 人(共 2 人),奖金 300 元加币;二等
奖每组 3 人(共 6 人),奖金 200 元加币;三等奖每组 5 人(共 10人)奖金 150 元加币;优秀奖每组 10 人(共 20 人),奖金 50 元。

对这次熊猫杯比赛组织较好的学校,机构等将颁发组织奖10个,
奖金各 100 元。
三、组织方式
安省和曼省各教育局各中文学校在预赛初选的基础上,组队参
加决赛,每队学生人数 3 人。人数多的教育局可派高中生和小学生
各两组参加。演讲稿由学会结集出版。
四、评选办法
比赛由华文教育学会负责组织,邀请资深中文专家组成评委会
对决赛进行评判,评出各奖项。

The Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Toronto has been successfully hosting the “Chinese Panda Cup” Chinese Competition since 2013. This year, in the form of in-person and online contest, the Consulate General will continue to host the “Chinese Panda Cup Speech Competition” for elementary and secondary school students in the provinces of Ontario and Manitoba and member units in Canada. Chinese Culture and Education Society of Canada is hosting this event.

I. Content of the Competition
All entries are original works. Entrants are required to complete three to five minutes of speech presentation independently.
II. Participants and Topics of Speech
The entrants are mainly Chinese Canadian students in Canada.
The contest is divided into groups of elementary school students and secondary school students as follows:

1) Secondary school students (grade 9—grade 12) are divided into two groups: students born in Canada and new immigrants (arrived in Canada within 5 years). The topic of speech is “Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Toronto: My Perspective on the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China”.
2) Elementary school students (grade 1-grade 8) are divided in to two groups: students born in Canada and new immigrants (arrived in Canada within 5 years). The topic of speech is “My China Story”.

III. Registration and Competition Schedule
1) Participants register through their Chinese schools, and each Chinese school organizes preliminaries to select teams to participate in the final. The preliminaries of various schools are independently arranged from September to October, and the winners are recommended to participate in the finals.
2) Individual registration is accepted. Students who are not enrolled in a Chinese school can register directly with the Chinese Culture and Education Society of Canada (website www.ccesc.ca) and indicate that they will participate in the preliminary contest organized by the Chinese Culture and Education Society of Canada .The preliminary contest for individual applicants is on November 17, 2024.
3) Registration for the final is open now until November 15, 2024, 11:59 pm.
4) The final will be held on November 24, 2024.
5) The competition is held in person and online. Participants from Toronto and nearby areas and York Region will participate in person, while other regions can compete online.

IV. Prizes and Awarding Methods
1) Elementary school group: 1 first prizes of C$200 each (total 2); 3 second prizes of C$ 150 each (total 6); 5 third prizes of C$100 each (total 10).10 Excellence Award of C$ 50 (total 20).
2) Secondary school group: (2 groups: new immigrants and Canadian-born): 1 first prizes of C$300 each (total 2); 3 second prizes of C$ 200 each (total 6); 5 third prizes of C$150 each (total 10). 10 Excellence Award of C$ 50 (total 20).
3) The awards are certain amount of money, certificate, and trophy.
4) Schools and institutions well-organized in this Panda Cup competition: 10 Organization Awards of C$ 100 for each.

V. Organization
1)The education institutions and Chinese schools in Ontario and Manitoba will form teams to participate in the final based on the preliminary selection results. The maximum number of members in each team is 3. For the school boards with a larger number of students, up to two groups of secondary school students and elementary school students might be considered to participate in the contest.
2) The speeches are published by Chinese Culture & Education Society of Canada.

VI. Selection Method:
1) The judging committee is organized by the Chinese Culture & Education Society of Canada.
2) The Competition Judging Committee is formed by the judges who are the professionals in Chinese studies or Chinese teaching field.
3) Judging committee is to judge in the finals and the awards.
