Toronto Region | 9th Global Chinese Recitation Competition
Registration Now Open

A single voice brings warmth to words.
A timeless classic bridge cultures across generations.

Founded in 2018 by the China Foundation for Chinese Language Education, since then the Global Chinese Recitation Competition has become one of the most influential international platforms for overseas youth to engage with the Chinese language and its literary heritage. Over the past eight years, the competition has brought together young participants from all around the world, using language as a bridge and classical work as inspiration—nurturing cultural understanding, expressive confidence, and artistic growth through recitation.

Under the guidance of the China Foundation for Chinese Language Education, the 2026 Global Chinese Recitation Competition – Toronto Region, is organized by the Canadian Chinese Education Society, and now officially open for registration. We warmly invite students who love Chinese language and the art of recitation to take part in this meaningful cultural journey—where voices meet the classics and language whereby both connects the hearts.

Chinese recitation is about a careful listening to words and a heartfelt response to tradition. This competition provides a professional and welcoming stage for Chinese language learners in the Greater Toronto Area, allowing poetry, prose, and contemporary works to come alive through children’s voices and youthful expression. It shows students’ linguistic proficiency, artistic interpretation, and inner confidence.
